About Cop Smart

That's the way we've always done it.

When you hear that explanation, it's usually code for "I don't know another way." But that doesn't mean there's not one.

The policing profession tends to hold the status quo until something forces a change. Especially in police training. We want to be that change.

Cop Smart was founded on the belief that officers should have the knowledge and skills they need before they need to use them. Being independent of traditional police organizations lets us look for what's coming next, change when we need to, and say things cops need to hear.

And because police are only one piece of the community safety puzzle, we want to share what we know with educators and businesses too.
